Honeywell and Analog Devices join the genocide filter
On 14 October, Middle East Eye reported that HSBC's Islamic Global Equity Index Fund, the UK's largest Shariah-compliant fund, bought over $100m of shares in five companies linked to the Israeli military in the first half of 2026: Palantir, RTX, Analog Devices, Honeywell and Rolls-Royce. All five passed its Shariah screen, because standard screening checks riba, alcohol and gambling, not weapons.
Three of the five were already in our Block pro-genocide companies preset. Honeywell and Analog Devices were not. Both are now in the Exclusion group, so anyone with the filter on at any level blocks them. Your own saved exclusions are untouched, and the fund previews on the website use the same list.
The receipts, on the homepage
The genocide-filter section on amalinvest.com was rebuilt around HSBC's actual holdings: an animated card that shows the fund's positions, then the filter removing them, with the dollar amounts from the report. It also now describes the filter accurately: one tap at setup, not on by default.
Help from the screen you're stuck on
The help center is linked from the app sidebar, the More sheet on mobile, the Connect to Alpaca step in onboarding, and the Trading 212 page. A question about connecting a broker now has a walkthrough one tap away instead of an email.
A quieter dashboard
The overview was restyled as a ledger: colour only on data and gain/loss, a caption under the headline stating how much of the account is uninvested cash, and a funds / stocks / cash allocation bar. On tablets the history chart runs full width so fund names fit.
Improved
- The custom fund builder on phones stacks each holding into two lines. The weight input used to cover the compliance badge, so you couldn't tell what was compliant or what its weight was
- The hourly sync of your Alpaca orders is faster and no longer stalls behind accounts with a very large order history
- Fund previews on the website load faster and are protected against scraping
- Both the app and the website were patched for the October Next.js and Node.js security releases
Fixed
Blacklist wouldn't save at the Pressure level
From 25 September, choosing Pressure or wider under Block pro-Israel companies and pressing Save Blacklist did nothing: no success message, no error, and the filter you thought you turned on wasn't applied. Fixed. Save now shows a spinner while it works and an error if something goes wrong.
Today was missing for funds with NYSE American or OTC holdings
Funds holding a NYSE American stock or an OTC foreign share (international, resources, small-cap) showed a dash instead of a Today change, and their charts had been using a stale price for those holdings since late May. Both are fixed and chart history has been corrected.
Rotated Trading 212 API keys blocked pie sync
After replacing your Trading 212 key, Sync pies and applying filters failed with Unauthorized even though the new key was valid. Old keys are now cleared out when you add a new one.
On the website
- Are Stocks Halal? was rewritten to name AAOIFI and give the 30% / 30% / 5% screening limits, and to explain why halal ETFs use about 33%
- The halal dividend stocks list shows live compliance status
