Redesigned screens and a help center

Redesigned portfolio and fund screens
The overview, funds list and fund page were rebuilt to the new designs. On desktop, account value, investment history, results and funds sit in one layout. On phones, summaries stack into cards, navigation lives in a floating bottom bar, headers stay pinned while you scroll, and Settings is a drill-down under More. Switching tabs is instant. If you installed Amal to your home screen, the app no longer offers to install itself again.
Today vs Total return
The green or red figure on each fund card used to be lifetime unrealized P&L, which reads like today's movement. The funds list now has a Today | Total return switch, with one signed figure per row and the percent in brackets. A flat day says so once. Your choice, along with sort column and direction, is remembered on that device.
The Total return overlay on fund charts (previously called Profit) now includes realized gains and dividends. Before, it only counted open positions, so a fund that was up overall after a few sales could plot as a loss.
Fund preview before you invest
The overview page you see before creating a filtered fund now answers the question people arrive with: which stocks come out, and what does that do to my money? It shows how $10,000 would have grown under your filters versus the original fund, how many stocks are removed and how much allocation that frees up, how each sector's share shifts, and a per-stock before/after with the reason each one was kept or dropped. The old Basic/Advanced split is gone.
Help center
There is now a help center that walks through the product screen by screen with real screenshots: eligibility, connecting Alpaca, adding a Trading 212 API key, what the filters do, why a holding got sold, billing, 2FA. Twenty-one articles across six sections. The old /docs URL redirects there.
- Clear Blacklist and Clear Whitelist buttons on filter settings, so emptying a list after the quick-add presets is one click instead of dozens. Nothing changes until you press Save
- Settings > Connection shows the Alpaca account number you're connected to
- Fund holdings show your average cost per share, and numeric column headers line up with their figures
- The product roadmap opens with a Recent updates strip and a count of what shipped in the last 90 days, instead of a two-year-old card. Voting from an idea's detail view works again
Improved
Invested is cost basis again
Last month we moved the Invested line on fund charts to net deposits. That left the dashboard header on cost basis, so the same word meant two different figures and the sum of your fund pages didn't match your header. We've settled on one definition everywhere: Invested is the cost basis of what you currently hold. The Invested column is back beside Market value on the funds list, and the overview return no longer counts leftover cash from an uneven rebalance as profit.
Faster manual trades
Buys, sells and withdrawals placed during market hours could sit as Queued for up to 10 minutes while a large fund investment ahead of yours finished up. That wait is gone.
- Portfolio history on the dashboard includes funds you've since deleted, so liquidating a fund no longer erases the months you held it
- The fund performance summary shows unrealized P&L and the return breakdown expands
- Custom fund settings show the non-compliance choice as locked rather than hidden, and saving unchanged settings no longer errors
- Changing rows per page on a fund page no longer jumps you to the top
- Fund page Holdings and Activity tabs got their card borders back on desktop, and the holdings breakdown is its own card on mobile
Fixed
Holdings the broker had already sold
Some funds showed stocks that were no longer in the brokerage account, which could stop a fund from selling or rebalancing. Sold stocks now leave your holdings while keeping their profit history, and a sale that doesn't finish can't be repeated on the same shares. We're repairing affected accounts.
Paid but couldn't sign in
A customer who bought through the website couldn't get in: Continue with Google failed silently on an account created by a payment. Paying for Amal now counts as verifying your email, and the setup email is resent if the first one doesn't land.
Dividends reinvested twice on shared accounts
Two Amal logins connected to the same Alpaca account caused the same dividends to be reinvested over and over. Fixed.
Halal ETFs held directly were being filtered
If you held UMMA, SPUS, HLAL, SPRE or SPSK as a fund, the compliance sweep could try to screen the ETF itself, swap it for its constituents and schedule a sale of your ETF position. ETFs held as a fund are now left alone.
- An Android user saw "Application error" on every load because one position had no price. One unpriceable stock no longer takes down the whole dashboard
- Submit on the fund creation filter step did nothing for IJR and IJH. Fixed, and that step now shows an error instead of staying silent
- A tiny leftover position (a stock that went private, a warrant worth cents) was hiding Today for the whole fund. It no longer does
- Trade confirmations showed 100% allocation after a single-stock dividend reinvestment
- In rare cases a trade could be placed twice if something interrupted it mid-way. Real-money trades are now never repeated automatically
- Fund period and sort toggles no longer hang on click
On the website
- A new custom halal funds post on building, screening and sharing your own fund
- A new halal investment options comparison: Amal, an advisor, halal ETFs, real estate and savings compared on fees, returns, liquidity and effort, with a 20-year fee-drag table. The comparison table on /pro was refreshed to match
- Wide article tables scroll inside the page on phones instead of pushing the whole page sideways
- Trustpilot rating updated to 4.7
